故事背景在现代，话说于每一个世代都会出现一个年青的女孩子，在人世间寻找及对付一些妖魔鬼怪，例如有吸血鬼、坏女巫等等邪恶的势力，而这个年青的女孩子则被称为Slayer，亦即是本剧中的女主角——Buffy。故事的开始是因 Buffy在L.A.的学校中捉拿吸血鬼的时候把整个体育馆弄倒了，故被学校踼了出来，之后她的母亲Joyce与她搬到加州名叫Sunnydale的一个地方生活，但原来这一切也是命运的安排。
A fourth season of 12 episodes has been confirmed and will premiere on June 23, 2014 on MTV. This will be the first season not to star Crystal Reed. New cast additions include Meagan Tandy as Braeden (who only appeared in 2 episodes of season 3), Dylan Sprayberry as "Liam", Khylin Rambo as Mason “an out-and-proud athlete” and Mason Dye as his best friend Garrett.
